A report for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).
This paper considers the consequences of technological changes for New Zealand and the extent to which New Zealand workers and businesses are prepared to reap the opportunities that such changes bring. Drawing on the international research, we explore what some of the technological and social changes might look like for New Zealanders - what industries and jobs may be most affected by the changes, and how well placed are we to adapt to them? We surveyed and asked New Zealanders whether they thought their jobs are at risk and who should be responsible for the training needed for new jobs. The challenge is about the expected pace of change and ability to adapt; rather than change per se.
