Ting Huang
Senior Economist
Prior to joining NZIER, Ting was a Research Economist at Auckland Council’s Research and Evaluation Unit for just under 7 years. Her main role there was to provide the evidence base to inform the Council’s decision-making on policies, plans and strategies through undertaking economic/data analysis and research. During her time there, she has become a competent user of ArcGIS to undertake spatial analyses of economic data and developed a strong interest in applying economic analysis and research in the urban planning and policy space.
Between 2014 and 2015, she also worked as a Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Transport and was involved in a number of multi-government agency projects.
Ting has a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Auckland, and her postgraduate research focused on Auckland’s transport issues. She is passionate about telling the stories behind complex/interesting data and research and making them accessible to people from non-economic backgrounds.
