Thomas Hughes
Economist
Thomas joined NZIER in 2022 after completing a Master of Commerce in Economics at the University of Auckland with First Class Honours. Throughout his studies, Thomas gained experience in STATA and R, which allowed for empirical investigations into econometric issues.
During his time with NZIER, Thomas has contributed to research in a variety of fields for both public and private sector clients. His areas of expertise are environmental economics and infrastructure. He is passionate about supporting tangible change through robust economic research.
