Daisy joined NZIER in February 2011 as an Economist. Her interests include econometrics, energy and resource markets, agriculture economics, industry organisation, health economics, and economic modelling and forecasting.

Daisy has a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Auckland. During her time at university she worked as an economics tutor and research assistant, gaining a rich understanding of the New Zealand economy and its various industries through a wide range of research projects.

This project evaluated potential policy impacts to New Zealand of the vertically integrated electricity market by allowing electricity distribution businesses back into retailing from November 2010. The analytical results were drawn from a cross-country study and theoretical approach.

The analysis provides an overall picture for understanding New Zealand electricity market.
