Jean-Pierre first joined NZIER in 2001 and was appointed Chief Executive in September 2008. He has provided economic advice on a wide range of public policy issues, ranging from an evaluation of a health service contracting method to estimating the relationship between electricity firms’ costs and the quality of their services. Jean-Pierre is also closely involved in the NZIER benchmarking of the quality of policy advice.

From October 2003 to October 2004, Jean-Pierre was the national policy manager at ACC. Prior to 2001 Jean-Pierre was an economic advisor at the Ministry of Health.
